Who to Watch: DeeBaddest aka Darnell Wold

I have been having conversations lately with a talented young brother. I was intrigued by his sense of style and kind words. After numerous convos I realized that this dude is a star in the making. Not only is he stylish...he is determined. Thats what really won him the title of DeeBaddest...

World...let me introduce you to Darnel Wold....DeeBaddest

Darnel Wold is a 22 year old hairstylist and makeup artist from NY. " My whole life I have been passionate about the art and techniques involved with hair and cosmetology and at about age 11 I gained an even stronger passion for it and started styling friends and family members" says Darnel. But coming from an old fashioned Puerto Rican family, it was kind of taboo for a male to become so interested in this field. So after high school and a stronger desire to style hair Dee's family gave in and encouraged him to pursue his dreams of becoming a hairstylist. He attended and graduated from Aveda Institute in Soho and is still to this day grateful for the opportunities and experiences gained at this institution.

Because of his attendance and acculades at such a well known school he got the opportunity to network with many people in the industry. From this he was selected to do hair and makeup for a Fashion Week event. Darnell confessed that "on top of being more excited than ever I must admit I was a bit nervous when it came to the makeup portion because I had minimal experience in it". But through it all he remained confident and held it down. "The experience was beyond amazing and to top it off , working with makeup was such a success that I decided that this was also something that I want to pursue" says Darnell.

" I am considering enrolling in an advanced training program to become a master stylist with Vidal Sassoon either in California or London. Overall, I am truly blessed and will continue to pursue my dreams and use this wonderful talent that the Lord has blessed me with in a positive way and take it as far it lets me. One day soon I hope to start a foundation and program for woman who are survivors of domestic violence and woman suffering with low self esteem. I can provide them with services as well as possible counseling to boost there confidence and allow them to take the world by storm. I have big dreams and many things I would love to someday accomplish such as my own salon and boutique, a product line, a fashion line, an organization for battered woman, and hopes of creating a line of natural looking wigs, hair pieces, and extensions. This will be predominantly catered to people suffering from medical conditions. I know all of these things are possible through the power of Christ and if it is meant to be, my success will be endless. Everyday I thank the Lord for my life and all of my blessings and I always remember these words {"There is not testimony without a test, always trust your struggle."} My movement is about positivity and growth and I will continue striving for what lies ahead."
