Let me Drool on your Open Toes

Theres nothing that I love more than a woman with a nice pair of Open Toe Heels. I don't think we're gonna have a serious winter Ladies, so take that chance and show them feet off and accentuate those calves(Women with Hammer-Time need not apply...Let Alone Try, LoL).
And the woman I see with any of these bad boys on, I'm sorry, but the Pervetish(New Word...perverted fetish) Side will have to come out of me.
And I am oh so joking, but these are really are eye-catching. Hope you dig them.

I really dig these "Steven Davin"....

And these, I like the style as well as the name; Naughty Monkey's "The Hype"

Your Fashionable Bum Rambo WiLLis

Because I Can.....

I'm going to hate because I feel as though I Can, on the species of Estrogenia(Women, No Pun Intended). I mean, why is it when the kicks come out for both parties, women(I love you all) get THE HOTTEST COLOR SCHEMES. Shoes are what makes the structure of style fashionable, for the right shoe is the sturdy foundation that makes everything complete.
Oh, and trust & believe I have made my opinion known & heard with some of these companies as to WHYYYYY??? the fellas can't get the fresh/cool/breath-taking colors on our feet. When I walk into a room I want to be seen from toe-2-head. You don't look at skyscrapers from head-2-toe, you look at them from the bottom up and say to yourself........WooooooW!!!
So, ladies here are the Greedy Genius Womens Cool Breeze "New Wave" & "Mirage"
and the ever so fly NIKE "Terminator"(top). I love you, but I gotta hate.

Sincerely,
Your Fashionable Bum Rambo WiLLis

selecting the PERFECT mascara!

hello my lovelies... i hope you are having a wonderful holiday season thus far...

so for the most part the same beauty trends i reported on last year are in effect... the reds are still alive... smokey eyes are still a hit... and metallics are still around - but not as much. purple is a big color and really really really dark lips are TOTALLY EN VOGUE, but that's another post...

i've decided to start focusing on products that i suggest for purchase... today, we review my favorite item in a make up bag... MASCARA!

mascara is a staple in a woman's make up bag... or well - IT SHOULD BE. even if you DON'T wear make up, MASCARA is something that can take your look from bleh to BLEHYOOTIFUL! it helps to open up the eyes, which really are the main focal point on a woman's face... or well it should be... lol.

choosing a mascara can be a tad bit intimidating... there are SOOOO many to choose from, so many different price ranges, and way too many formulas... one can start to wonder, 'well are they really all the same? do they really do what they say they will?'... THE ANSWERS TO THOSE QUESTIONS ARE: "NO" & "SOMETIMES"

the first step in selecting the perfect mascara for you is to assess your lashes!

if you have straight lashes - you want a CURLING mascara. and even after that, you may still need to curl your lashes... lashes pointing to the ground - NOT CUTE!!!

try:

Lancome Courbe Virtuose
$23.50

or

L'oreal Panoramic Curl (your local drugstore/grocery store)

if you have sparce lashes - you want VOLUME!!! focus on volume over length to add depth!

try:

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes
$18

or

L'oreal Voluminous Mascara (your local drugstore/grocery store)

if you have thick, unruly lashes - you want a mascara that caters to DEFINITION of your lashes.

try:

Too Faced Lash Injection PinPoint
$19.50

or

Maybelline Lash Discovery (your local drugstore/grocery store)

if you have the desire to have longer lashes - of course you want to get a lengthening mascara...

try:

Benefit Bad Gal Big Lash $19

or

L'oreal Telescopic (your local drugstore/grocery store)

i used to use two different mascaras to achieve the look i wanted until i found THE perfect mascara (for me of course). it's SUPERNOVA, by FRESH! it's sold at Sephora & at Sephora.com the cost is $25... and yes that's pricey, but IT'S WORTH IT. and if you don't like it - RETURN IT! (just keep your receipt).

i am also a fan of MUFE's, SMOKEYLASH. LOVE IT! $22not as much as SUPERNOVA - but it's pretty great!

a lot of people are totally in lust with DIOR's, DIORSHOW mascara... but i'm not impressed. it dries out waaaaaaaaaay too quick for me... but that's just me.

* all of the above listed mascaras can be found at www.sephora.com unless stated otherwise

well my friends... i will see you next time around... enjoy & keep those lashes nice and full of mascara!

PEACE & PAINT,

Meagan Shea' aka The Crayola Kid

...and IM NOT IMPRESSED BY THIS EITHER!!!

Not Impressed But....

Well for all my headband junkies I have amazing news for you.

Mischa Barton has a new collection of headbands for Stacey Lapidus. The line consists of six pieces adorned with pearls, crystals, sequins and flowers. These pieces were unveiled for the holiday season and range in price from $80 to $200, and will be sold at staceylapidus.com

Play with yourself.....

A clothing line, "Play Cloths", from your favorite street pharmaceutical rappers Clipse. Looks fresh to me with a bit of a "Ice Cream" feel. But me personally I love the cold and their winter collection is pretty dope("Grinding"). Check'em out....I'm going to try to get a hoody when it goes on SALE this summer.
RECESSION!!!(LoL)

IT GIRL of 2008

RIHANNA!!!
She is freaking amazing. She can go from Glam to Rockstar chic in a matter of minutes. Rihanna stepped on the scene a few years back looking like every other female singer in the game. Long hair and "cute" songs were the image. Now she is tattooed with a short cut that has inspired half of the world to go for the "semi-mohawk" look.

Rihanna has been a trendsetter for the past 2 years. So congrats Rihanna! You are BREATHE's 2008 IT Girl!

Let's see how she SMASHED in 2008
Enjoy...

Ok...thats enough. Her STYLE is easy to OVERDOSE on!

VERA WANG OPENS NEW STORE

Vera Wang is back at it!

According to Fashion Wire Daily, she has opened up a boutique in Soho early December. The store mixes some of her more expensive brands with her inexpensive pieces from her Lavender Label. Wang hasn't opened a store since 1989 and this one is said to be very unique with a classical-artsy feel.

Vera Wang plans to open two more stores in 2009 in LA. One will house the Lavender Label and the other will be Vera Wang and bridal gowns.

Go Vera!!!

Next time I am in SoHo I shall pay her a visit.

Peace

The Skinny of It All

I had a conversation with a fabulous male friend yesterday and he said something that shocked me. He believes that skinny jeans are over.

WHAT!!!!
HOW SO!!!...did I miss the memo..
I LOVE SKINNY JEANS....

For men and women alike, skinny jeans are just cool. Stovepipes, drainpipes, skinny, ultra-straight...whatever you may call them, are here to stay for a while and look great for almost any ocassion. They just define style and creativity for me. Don't get me wrong, I love wide legs...the wider the better but skinny jeans will always do it for me. I think the fashion industry agrees because more and more lines are creating new styles of this classic.

Check out Levis 510 for men
...and they also sell these jeans in various colors...SWEEEEEET

BDG's for women
Like color??? Try these on for size!

So Mr. Fabulous...I know you have a few pairs of STOVEPIPES....so throw them on...we are going out!!!

Peace

Wale O.

NO!!! Not Mr. "Nike Boots"....Wale Oyejide; Afrobeat Artist/Producer.
This is funny, I'm into my afrobeat and international music a la Fela, Femi, Afro-Blues Quintet etc. But I first heard this cat on a song that I thought was J. DiLLa's(R.I.P.), and I'm a DiLLa Stan by the way. I try to get everything that this brother beat, or spit on.
Anyway, I thought it was DiLLa's joint, so I'm at my favorite mom & pops shop(Sound Garden) and I see a cd that looked like Lupe was on the cover.....But I said hey, Lupe would be dressed more Paris/Tokyo/Kick-Push-ish.
So I look at the back and see DiLLa's name on the song "There's a War Going On"...Give it a listen and it's the same joint that I thought was DiLLa's. I feel oh so behind(4 years behind) since I try to consider myself Mr. D.I.T.C. As a result, I cops the cd and the one after and the dude is ill.
"One Day...Everything Changed" is the album with DiLLa on it and the other 1 that I copped was "Africahot!"

Do you want to get HiGH???

Clae is credited as being one of the first brands to make a mark in the “athleisure” footwear movement. Clae men’s shoes are seen as a hybrid collection that offers sneaker-comfort fused with classic footwear styling. The introduction of Clae men’s shoes spawned a new definition of casual. Clae men’s shoes deliver quality production, attention to detail and fashionable style. I like these as a foundation for whatever threads I feel I'm going to wear. Somewhat, like Creative Recreation but very chill and subtle.

How about a Diadora High???

How about a SB High with Osiris?

Or maybe you want that Hiking kind of High?

Sincerely,

Your Fashionable Bum Rambo WiLLis; a.K.a Dap

P.S.

Let's Get High 2gether

Pure Comedy

Looks like somebody beat me to it. LoL
Yall have seen or heard this by now. But let's think for a minute, in all of my years of living I seriously can not recall a president getting that kind of disrespect from a foreign country that they have violated and disturbed. Guess that's just a little taste of the "chickens coming home to roost" in Iraqs climate of hate. Due to his so called leading of course.

21ST CENTURY MAROON COLONY

I am definately on a streetwear trip right now. I heard about a line called 21MC and decided to do my research and this line is DOPE.

21MC is the brand created by childhood friends Emeka Alams and Yego Moravia. Alams, who is Nigerian and Moravia, born Haitian, decided to create a "real" African inspired line that didn't dabble in the oh so classic red green and black but bought back the true textiles of African culture. True African culture inspired the name.

21st Century Maroon Colony (21MC) is a representation of the Maroon Colony. This group of people were suvivors of a new nation, slaves who kept true to themselves. This is exactly what this brand plans to do, stay true to culture and streetwear.

21MC offers you ponchos and t-shirts. You can also find music by Muhsinah and they are down with my man Blaqstarr!!! SWEEEEEEEETTTT

Colin Munroe

U might have heard of this fellow from up north in Canada, if not, he's the 1 that did his own version of "Flashing Lights" and made it his own "I Want Those Flashing Lights". Also, you can catch him on Black Milks album "Tronic" doing his thing. So be on the lookout for the LP "Don't Think Less of Me" coming soon. I give you, if you don't already know, Colin Munroe.

H.I.S.D.(Houston Independent Spit District)

If your like me then you got your ears open to what's on the come up. I'm an underground head and it seems that the south is in a Beautiful Renaissance, from Little Brother, Justus League, Slum Village, Basic Vocab, Project Move etc. (yes LB & JL are pretty much within the same circles).
Hailing from Houston is H.I.S.D., and from my first listen it took me back to that fresh feeling of something new when I first heard Little Brother's "Whatever You Say". And these groups of artists seem to come about when the music seems to be at a stalemate or just plain dry. So, ladies and gents everything from the south ain't country as you may think. We all share the same experiences outside of phantom whips, Ace of Spades Champagne, & platinum chains.
If your like me then you would want to hear something from someone who is sorta just like you but hey "Only A Fool".

Peace,
Dap

Red Wing "Iron Ranger"

A new look for us fellas out there that may want to display a conservative but yet rugged look in a fshionable sense. I give you the Red Wing Boot "Iron Ranger", ranging about $250ish, but is well worth the money. A very durable boot and quite comfortable I might add. They do go nice with whatever you choose to wear Khakis, Vintage Levi Slacks, Straight Leg Jeans, or Boot Cut. Check to see if there's a Red Wing store near you.

IM RAISING HELL

If you are all about RAISING HELL too...then you would absolutely LOVE the line HELLZ BELLZ!

I've been a fan of this line for a while now and decided to share my long time t-shirt friend with you.

Hellz Bellz is a dope streetwear clothing line created by Lanie Alabanza-Barcena. She previously designed for A#, Triple5Soul and Rocawear. Its rare that you see such a controversial streetwear line designed exclusively for women. Many lines have tried and failed but this chic has the right idea. Her line of tshirts are just a mere of expression of what we are all thinking on a daily basis. It is so funny to see peoples' reactions when they read them. Anyway...check them out!

If you want to see more from Hellz Bellz visit there site

http://www.hellz-bellz.com/

Here you can find leggings, jackets, tanks and shirts....

Check out there Holiday 2008 line

finding COMMON ground

Now if you haven't already, even though it's been a day, purchased "UMC" - Universal Mind Control then your in for something(emphasis on the something).
I've purchased it because I am an avid fan from "Can I Borrow A Dollar" days. Pretty much when he was sorta like Mr. Andre Benjamin wearing the baseball jerseys drinkin 40's before they were morphed and roller coastered into the Hip-Hop's elite MC's they are now(Thank U Badu).
Now, "UMC", a break from the norm of what we're used to hearing from the brother Rashid. My theory is this, if you have reached the highest you could go then you can either:
A) Try to take it a level higher
or
B) Take it to the left
Now, from what I've seen in the past hence "Water 4 Chocolate" era(His BEST work IMO), Common decides to go through a mental imaginative freedom journey and goes off center from what we the fans expect, hence "Electric Circus"(another classic IMO, after getting used to it's acquired taste of course). But, "UMC", is not "Electric Circus" but it is different, and Common did warn us I guess you could say stating "I just wanted to make a feel good album...blah blah blah...Neptunes...blah blah blah...Pretty much want people to dance to my music for a change". Sounds innocent, right?...Riiight.
I listened to "UMC" and I must say it's a good album for what it is. Yes, I like feel good music, I like The Neptunes, & I like to dance. Neptunes sound very distinct but they just put you in a vibe to where you can overdose on their sound. My only thing is do you have to water down your lyrics in order for the fans to dance. I got down to "Go", "Real People", "The Game", "The People", "U Remind Me", etc.
On some tracks he's lyrical Common(Sense) and on some tracks he's jus being a man rhyming, after all he is human. But as fans does he owe us that much to keep things the way we like it or be the artist that he is and express himself in a whole new light; I mean that Hollywood experience(money) does change your view on things once you start seeing those "Flashing Lights". But all in all, I like it but as an artist you have to keep some kind of artistic integrity about urself when your blessing the masses with your gift.
So, im gonna end it here and say that if you dare to be different then go all out(which he has), or find COMMON ground.

So here's some U.niversal M.ind C.ontrol - "Punch Drunk Love"

I'm in love!
Nike Pattern Blazer Mid Premium-$100.00 UrbanOutfitters

COOL!

When I was younger I was so happy when my mother bought me a pair of riding boots. You know...the boots that horse riders wear...lol

Anyway...I wanted them so bad because my big cousin had them and I thought she was the epitome of COOL. She would wear them with her stirrups, a fur jacket and a Louis Vuitton bag...WOW

Me...I only had stirrups with a shirt to match (OUTFIT...LOL) and a leather jacket...I was still the flyest kid in elementary school...at least I thought so :0)

So recently I was walking through Macy's and guess what I saw....

Lenny Yorke, creative director for STYLE MANAGEMENT, passed away recently. I recently saw some of his latest designs a show @ LIMA.

His death hit the fashion world really hard.

A tribute to Lenny Yorke will be held on Sunday, Dec 14 from 2-6 pm at The Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center in Baltimore, MD. The address is 847 North Howard Street, Baltimore MD 21201. If you are able to attend, please RSVP with Larry Allen at 215-817-4499 or larry@lastyle4u.com.
